New Backing Track For “Waiting For The Federals”

This is an Old Time reel, “Waiting For The Federals” (also known as “Seneca Square Dance” and “Shelby's Mule”), which originated from the Midwest area of the United States. It was first recorded in 1926 by Sam Long (1876-1931). The Southern U.S. name for the tune, “Waiting For The Federals,” is likely a reference to an event in the American Civil War. Dave Hum recorded the song on the 5-string banjo using the Standard tuning (gDGBD), in the key of G. I have made backing tracks in the keys of G and A for your preference. Enjoy!
I used MIDI for the bass, drums and piano. I used audio loops for the Cajon box, cymbal, shaker and tambourine. Dave Hum's family has tabs available for this song on their website, and an original backing track as well.
